Backflow Prevention Assembly Testing
Backflow testing is mandated by the state to protect the drinking water supply. In short, none of us want to drink the water after it is used by commercial companies, industrial users, or whatever our neighbors are doing with the water in their house. These devices help to prevent backflow, but are periodically required to be tested. Most commonly it is required annually. We are licensed and equipped to carry this testing and reporting out for you.

WIT defines “ordinary device” as:
Two inches or smaller (2-inch devices quoted)
Accessible
Not submerged
No confined-space entry
No significant dirt or water removal
No complex building shutdown
No special escort or overnight scheduling

PRICING RULES & REPORTING NOTES
Testing is a pass/fail service; the fee is due regardless of the result.
The customer must provide access and identify the device location.
Repairs, replacement parts, excavation and cleaning are not included.
Failed devices still require the failed report to be documented and submitted where required.
A return trip is billable unless caused by WIT.
Municipal and third-party portal fees are passed through.
Quotes assume the device is accessible, safe and test-ready.
Payment is due upon completion for residential work.
Commercial accounts may receive Net 15 terms after approval.
WIT retains testing records and provides annual reminders.
TCEQ GUIDANCE NOTE
TCEQ guidance requires a test report for each assembly tested and says failed assemblies should still be reported to the water supplier.
